Success for Harlow College interns at PAHT

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust recently held the first Project SEARCH Supported Internship Graduation Ceremony for Harlow College Interns.

 Project SEARCH offers young people with learning disabilities and/or autism, the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in real work situations through work placements within The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.

Harlow College, Project SEARCH and The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust are working together to support these young people gain experience and learn skills that will increase their chances of securing paid employment.

Tutors from Harlow College joined PAHT staff at the ceremony where the interns were celebrated and thanked for all their hard work and commitment. PAHT staff added that having the interns work with them has played an instrumental role in providing everyday excellence and patient care.

Wendy Martin, Assistant Principal at Harlow College, also congratulated the students and thanked PAHT staff for their unwavering support and dedication to the Project SEARCH programme.

Rhonda Williams, Job Coach Team Leader, also added her thanks to PAHT Managers and staff, stating that ‘by creating a welcoming and inclusive working environment you have all ensured that our interns felt supported and valued throughout their journey. The positive impact you have made on them will undoubtably resonate for years to come.’

Congratulations to Morgan, who has been offered a permanent position with the Maintenance Team at PAHT.
