Sixth Form Centre
Inspiring and challenging A Levels and BTECs in a specialist Sixth Form Centre
You will usually choose three or four AS subjects in your first year, sitting exams for these at the end of the year and gaining AS standalone qualifications. You can then progress to the second year by enrolling onto the A Level, usually taking three subjects, although the most able learners are able to study four A Level subjects. If you have successfully completed four AS subjects, you have a choice as to which three subjects you will study in the second year. At the end of the second year you sit your A Level exams.
A Levels can now be combined with some BTEC programmes. This means you can study a greater range of subjects or study a subject for which you may not meet the entry requirements to do the A Level equivalent.
