Extension: the Additionality Programme
If you need to be stretched and challenged you can do additional programmes alongside your main A Level subjects. These will develop your academic skills and enhance your application for progression. Additional programmes include the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is mainly aimed at those who have achieved excellent grades in four AS subjects and are reducing their programme of study to 3 A2 qualifications but still need a challenge in addition to working to achieve the highest A Level grades.
Universities are looking for quality rather than quantity. So it's important that if you're taking on additional courses such as EPQ you can cope with the extra work alongside your main programme. For this qualification, you develop research skills whilst creating a project on a chosen specialist subject.
