Fresh from their recent educational trip to Ghana, where A Level students climbed the highest mountain and the tallest waterfall, the students have now scaled new heights in their A Level exams, securing Harlow College's position at the summit for Student Progress.

To top it all, the College has secured a 100% pass rate for the sixth year in a row and an impressive 57% A*-B rate, compared to the national average of 53%.

Combined with Harlow's No. 1 College position for Academic progress announced earlier this year, when the Department for Education's performance tables were published, this is a phenomenal achievement for its students. This means that from your starting points you are more likely to get higher grades if you attend Harlow College compared to studying elsewhere.

As well as securing places at top universities, high-flying students have secured highly competitive Higher Apprenticeships with the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline. The College experience has opened up doors by providing not only academic study and enrichment, but also giving students top opportunities to continue their studies with first-class employers.

Karen Spencer, Principal of Harlow College said:
"Our A Level students have had a fantastic summer and have achieved another set of brilliant results. This is down to their hard work and dedication, as well as the excellent teaching and support from our teachers. They are a credit to Harlow and are not just satisfied with academic progress, but have also taken part in volunteering in schools in Ghana, fundraised for many local and national charities, taken part in the National Citizenship Service and Harlow College's Young Professionals Scheme."

Robert Halfon, MP for Harlow was equally enthusiastic:
"As Harlow MP and the new Minister for Further Education‎, I am incredibly proud that yet again, Harlow College has had some outstanding results, with not just 100% pass rate but 57% of students gaining A*-Bs.

Since being MP for Harlow I have visited Harlow College 36 times. I love going there because the College is a lighthouse for Harlow and for its students, parents, employers and teachers. It is a lighthouse to other educational institutions up and down our country. Congratulations to everyone."

"We are absolutely thrilled with the A level results; it seems as though they just get better year after year! Achieving 100% pass rate and increasing the high grades is the perfect result of all the hard work put in by staff and students. We are so proud of what we have all accomplished together here at Harlow College Sixth Form and the staff look forward to witnessing our talented students using their skills and knowledge at university, in higher apprenticeships or employment, achieving their goals."
