Open Evening Traffic Jam
The chilly late October evening did nothing to deter over 2500 eager visitors who battled through traffic jams caused by the sheer volume of people attending our latest Open Evening.
We had many visitors from outside Harlow, including a very large proportion from East Herts and West Essex, who were greeted by Nao, our resident robot, in our digital innovation hub.
Other special activities included our Media students giving visitors an early Halloween fright as they showed off their grisly prosthetic masks and our Hospitality and Catering students who kept everybody going with their delicious homemade soup and rolls.
There was plenty of activity in our Apprenticeships Lounge and a huge amount of interest around our Stansted Airport College stand, where visitors could discover all they needed to know about our new college opening in September 2018.
As always we had some very positive feedback from visitors, with this particular comment sent via our website:
“I would like to congratulate you on a fabulous open evening. We were so very impressed and you have given my son a new excitement and energy about the next stage of his academic career.
"I would like to say a particular thank you to our wonderful tour guide Abigail who gave us a real understanding of the college as a whole and facilitated our informal chats with teachers and students so seamlessly. Also, to the exuberant year 12 biology student (Laura???). Her energy and passion for her subject was infectious. Absolutely superb, well done all.”
