Harlow Prepares for Major Transformation
Harlow is set for a bright future according to Council Chairman Cllr Clive Souter, who met Harlow College students studying for the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).
The students met Cllr Souter and Head of Governance, Simon Hill, in order to find out more about the workings of the council and its plans for the future.
Cllr Souter told the students: "Harlow is on the up. Wages are creeping up and there are more jobs available."
With Public Health England moving to the town, the Enterprise Zone creating more job opportunities and the town set for a new hospital, Harlow is poised for a 21stcentury transformation.
Tutor Pamela Jenner said: "It is very important that our students get the opportunity to interview leading representatives of the town and to understand how the council works. We are very grateful to Cllr Souter and Mr Hill for taking the time to talk to us."
Alex Beaney, 21, said: "We really appreciate Cllr Souter and Mr Hill giving up time out of their busy schedules to explain how the council works and answer any questions we had. It was a fantastic learning experience and we are now planning to write follow-up stories."
