WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
Harlow College is working in partnership with Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust and DFN Project Search. The placements we offer to learners are based in Princess Alexandra Hospital. The placements are varied across the academic year and will hopefully lead into future employment for our Young People. The Supported Internship is a 1 year programme.
WHAT WILL I DO?
College and Placement
5 days a week – 1 day in college and increasing up to 4 days at placement.
1 day at college with a Lead Teacher: 9.30-3.30pm
- English & Maths development.
- Employability skills.
- Personal development target focus.
Leading up to 4 days at PAH with job coach: times TBC depending on placement
- Specified work placement (increasing days and hours).
- Reviews with job coaches.
- Job rotation (open to up to 2 per year)
WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
- Young People will be required to have an EHCP.
- Age range from 18-24.
- Appropriate for the place of work/business.
- Travel training will need to be completed before placement.
- Photo ID and bank account for DBS application.
- End outcome is to have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to move into paid employment in the future.
- Open to job searching and applying for different roles throughout the course.
