About the course

Are you ready to launch your career in the dynamic world of the creative industries? Harlow College have launched the UAL Level 4 Creative Technologies (Games, Multimedia and Visual Arts) course, designed for individuals eager to break into the creative sector and build an impressive portfolio. This course is perfect for those aiming to progress to university or stand out in job interviews with a strong showcase of skills and projects.

Entry requirements

5x GCSE at grade 4 or C, including English and maths.

One A level or equivalent Level 3 qualification, preferably in a relevant creative subject.

How much does it cost?

Free to those aged 18. Fees apply to this course if you're aged 19+ You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.

Course charge of £100 for the 1 year programme. Fees cover the costs for gaming equipment, studios, Mac/PC editing software, exhibitions and compulsory trips.

Our dedicated Creative Industries Centre, equipped with iMacs loaded with the full Adobe Suite, Unity, Unreal and Blender, provides the ideal environment for you to hone your craft. Join a vibrant community of like-minded creatives, collaborate on exciting projects and take your first steps towards your dream career in the creative industry.

You will study a range of practical and theory-based work including research, evaluations, a critical writing piece of 750 words as well as practical workshops.

Core modules

The Foundation Diploma is made upon the accumulation of 120 credits from the units studied. These units include:

  • Diagnostic Investigation into Creative Practice
  • Developing Specialist Practice
  • Consolidating Practice

How will I be assessed?

There are no exams on the Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Creative Technologies. You will be assessed on the projects you complete in class during the year and your final grade for the qualification (Pass, Merit, Distinction) is based on your final project.

Funding Your Course
