About the course

Explore a range of media, processes and techniques. You will also explore images, artefacts and resources that relate to art from the past and present, both European and non-European. You will demonstrate your response to this art though practical and critical activities that show your understanding of different styles, genres and traditions. You will explore drawing using a variety of methods and media.

Entry requirements

A minimum score of 5 from 7 GCSEs to include English, Maths, and science along with four other GCSE grades or equivalent (not including short courses or Citizenship). See Subject Requirements Guide for details.

GCSE Art at score of 5 or above. You may be asked to produce examples of your work.

How much does it cost?

Free to those aged 16-18

There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.

Why study?

This is an opportunity to work in one or more areas of Fine Art. You can explore overlapping areas and combinations of areas: painting, drawing and mixed media, including collage and assembling printmaking, relief, intaglio and screen processes.

Where will this course take me?

Careers in the creative industries are varied and exciting, including animation arts, fashion and textiles, social photography, web production and design, fine arts, digital art and commercial illustration.
