    About the course

    This is a level 1 aimed to provide an introduction to Further Education and the courses on offer. It comprises of core units that will prepare students for a level 2 qualification, pastoral units that will give students essential skills for personal development, and subject units to give an example of future courses. Other pathways include Engineering, Sport and Business.

    How much does it cost?

    Free to those aged 16-18. If you are aged 19+ you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.

    There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.

    Why study?

    A broad course with tasks ranging from creating mood boards and meal plans, to building a website. This course uses a wide array of topics and assessment methods to help students find a subject they are interested in and a learning style that suits them.

    If you're aged 19 or over and you want to study A Levels, an Access to Higher Education Diploma, or a Level 3 to 6 Vocational Qualification, you could be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.
