About the course
This new T Level focuses on the development of knowledge and skills needed for working in the Engineering Industry and progressing to university. The content on this course covers a broad range of engineering skills in the first year (design, mechanical, electronic, electrical, theoretical, manufacturing, quality) with specific focus in the second year electronic and electrical engineering.
Throughout the course there will be large amounts of practical work included in the relevant topics e.g. working with PLC devices or circuit design, building and manufacture. Various Engineering and Manufacturing companies will be visited in the local area and further trips to Engineering Conferences.
Entry requirements
Grade 5 or above in GCSE Maths
Grade 5 or above in a Science/Engineering/Design based subject
At least 3 other GCSE’s at grade 4 or above including English
How much does it cost?
Free to those aged 16-18.
There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries.

Why study?
T Levels are new courses which will follow GCSEs and will be equivalent to 3 A Levels. These 2-year courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares learners for work.

The T Level study programme is eligible for UCAS points. A T Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A Levels at A* and will be recognised by universities.
Apprenticeship: There are many opportunities offered through apprenticeships that allow you to carry on learning (20%) whilst spending most of your time (80%) furthering your skills in the workplace.
There are a variety of careers you can pursue once you have completed the course as the knowledge, skills and behaviours you will develop are highly prized within a broad range of businesses.

Occupational Specialism: Electrical and Electronic Engineering
This specialism focuses on developing learners' skills in designing and developing electrical and electronic engineering systems. It covers key areas such as design methodologies, tools and materials, technical drawings, and testing prototypes. Learners will gain the ability to analyse engineering requirements, design and evaluate systems, and collaborate on managing and improving designs. They will also develop skills in communication, including the creation of technical drawings and documentation, while enhancing their Maths, English, and Digital skills for application in the engineering and manufacturing industry. Includes work on PCB design, microcontrollers and PLC.
