About the course

Learn the basic skills and techniques of Beauty Therapy. You have the opportunity to try out your practical skills on your fellow students and the final assessment of these skills will be carried out by applying treatments to paying members of the public.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above plus grade 4 in English.

A successful completion of the Level 1 hair and beauty with clear progress on English skills may also be considered.

You will need to carry out at least 30 hours of work experience.

How much does it cost?

£633 for Adult Learners

Beauty kit, uniform, shoes, A4 lever arch files, pens, textbook. Approx cost £230.

How will I be assessed?

You will have a mixture of practical sessions in the salon and classroom-based lessons teaching underpinning knowledge. You will be expected to complete hairdressing/beauty/barbering services on paying clients in the commercial salon.

It is expected that you may need to bring in your own clients for practical assessments. Educational trips will also be available to enhance learning.

Approximate cost £300

Each student is also expected to get an iPad from the college, which comes with a £75 refundable deposit.
